Ozone chips last approximateley 18 - 24 months.

Once their life expires your ozone unit will no longer be producing ozone and that champagne of bubbles you normally see floating to the waters surface will not be ozone gas, but merely dissipated oxygen.

This means that you will not have the powerful sanitising effect that your ozonator usually gives and you'll be relying on your chemical sanitiser alone to keep harmful bacteria in check.
